Heartfelt Creations Scrapbook Page-Wonderful Day

Good morning!
A year or two ago I was asked to photograph my niece who was trying out for a  modeling job with a particular company.  I took her down to our local Historical Park and we spent the next couple hours posing and changing clothes and jewelry, just having fun!
This is one of the photographs.

It's A Wonderful Day

What a great day that was!
I've highlighted her picture using the beautiful Classic Petunia paper and Petunia flowers. See this and all the other designer projects this week HERE.

Instructions: Other products:  White card stock, Ribbon, Pearls (Dark pink), Stickles (Diamond) and Multi-fine glitter, Photo of my niece, Bailey.

Instructions:
Approx. 10 1/2 X 10 1/2 page size.  Start with two pieces of Classic Petunia paper (cut center out of dark pink paper to be used for photo mat).  One-5 X 7 photo and the white card stock for stamping and die cutting flowers and leaves.  Begin with the dark pink Designer paper cut down to your desired page size and (using a cutter like Fiskars or similar) cut the center out of it.  Cut A Wonderful Day Designer paper down to fit leaving about 1/4" border of the dark pink all the way around. Also cut around the wing of butterfly located above the banner using a craft knife.  Use the center cut-out of dark pink to make a mat for your photo.  Glue matted photo to designer paper page making sure the wing of the butterfly is on top of photo.  Stamp, die cut and sponge color onto flowers and leaves then shape flowers and leaves using the Heartfelt Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit.  Die cut Decorative Blossom Corner using very light green card stock and glue it to the top right corner of the page and photo.  Attach all the flowers and leaves to top and bottom of page as desired and add bows and ribbon tails to make a fluffy bed of light green for the flowers to "sit" in tucking them in around and between flowers and leaves.  Add glitter or Stickles to flowers and butterfly wings.

ODBD May Release Reminder

Good morning!

Today we are taking a look back at Our Daily Bread Designs May Release, here is the card I created using the new Clipboard Set dies Class Act stamp set and Birthday Brights paper . For more inspiration using the May Release be sure to visit the ODBD Blog.

A closer look

This was so fun to make!  I started with the Half Shutter Card and used the Birthday Brights to cover each section.  I decided to use a bit lighter than school bus yellow to be a base for all my cute Clipboard Set items so that they would be the main star of the show!!  I stamped, colored and fussy cut my stack of books, stamped the notebook paper and then the sentiment for my clipboard.  I used metallic textured silver for the clipboard clip, scissors, whistle, ruler and paper clip.  I did a bit of shading on the silver to make it more realistic then used some other solid brights to cut most everything else.  I did cut the glue and magnifying glass  from white as well as the other sentiment on the Pierced Oval, the Pierced Square for the whistle and a little Pierced Circle under the books.
What a great way to say Thank You to your favorite teacher!!

     Joseph's Coat

    1. A few Petal Points are all you need

      By Robin Clendenning
I really love the Clearsnap PetalPoint Pigment Ink - smooth and easy for direct to paper. I used it twice for making a background by applying to paper then used a sponge to blend...worked perfectly.

Pigment ink is perfect for embossing, and I used it in a double embossing application with really good results. I also used it to do the Joseph's Coat technique!

These colors are beautiful for sentiments using clear embossing powders because they match so many of the new paper colors out there. It makes having multiple pads unnecessary; a few of these Petal Points in your stash will take care of all your color needs!

    Card is 6 X 6 in size.
Start with Heavy weight card stock (one 12X6" piece and two 6 X 3")
On long side, score at 1 1/2, 3, 9 and 10 1/2).  Fold like an easel card on both sides leaving a 6" space in the center (the two 3 X 6" pieces will be glued to the first 1 1/2" section-flush on left outside edge and the 10 1/2" section flush with right outside edge).  Sponge a piece of 6 X 6" decorative paper (with purple dye ink) and glue to center.  Die cut Raindrops on Roses die X 2 out of white and add to back panel.  Cut out decorative designed rectangle from Classic petunia paper (about 2 3/4 X 4) and stamp Happy Birthday (from Small Classic Petunia stamp set) then glue to a light green piece of decorative paper and glue to the 6 X 6 inside panel.  Cut two pieces of decorative paper 2 7/8 X 5 7/8 and glue to the 3 X 6" card stock pieces.  Cut gate at gate opening/latch, weave ribbon (dyed seam binding-crinkled) and glue gate pieces to the front two 3 X 6" pieces (be sure not to glue across opening).  Make sure ribbon is long enough to open all the way without pulling ribbon out of the gate.  Make an extra fluffy/crinkly bow with more seam binding to add to gate above tied bow for more fluff (instead of having to retie a triple bow each time card is opened).  Stamp and die cut Classic Leaf, Blossoms from Birds and Blossoms,Leafy Branch, Small Classic Petunias, Petunia Bouquet, and Regal Hummingbirds.  Color Hummingbirds and flowers in basket. Sponge color on basket, and Petunia corner along with the classic leaf, Petunias and blossoms.  Form flowers and leaves then add Prills.
Add Liquid Pearls to flower basket.  Use a piercing tool to pierce small hole in center of basket then string purple thread to fashion a "rope" hanger and attach basket to top right side.  Add classic leaf to left side being sure to keep clear of ribbon (make sure ribbon can still move) then add blossoms and some extra Prills (as if small flowers).   Add Petunia corner to top left and then add flowers and leaves and white Prills in various places.  Stick foam tape to back of Hummingbird and attach to card.

I hope you will visit the Heartfelt Blog to see all the designers projects HERE today.

    ODBDSLC286-Reminder-Just SayThanks

    Good morning!
This is my thank you card for the challenge reminder.
It could be for a school teacher OR a Sunday school teacher.
I've used cute patriotic papers from the Old Glory paper pad and the new release
    set Seeds of Knowledge.

    ODBD stamps: Seeds of Knowledge
I just love this sketch from SCS.  I've used it several times now for various projects.  I love it with the apple especially!!
Proverbs 31 is very special to me because my husband buys me flowers or a little gift every month that has 31 days, on the 31st.  He says it is because I'm his Proverbs 31 woman! Well, I don't measure up to that woman but I'm glad that he thinks so.  Isn't that precious?
So anyway, when I got this stamp set I was thrilled that this verse was part of the set.  (See the sets below).

Please visit my design team sisters for more inspiration

To join the challenge please follow this link to the ODBD blog and click on the Linky to submit your project. You can also find all the prize and rule information there.
     Thanks for stopping by today!
Oh, P.S. Today is my birthday!!

We have hundreds of dogwood trees here in the Sierra National Forest
and May is the time they are all in bloom!
Most of the dogwood I have seen are white but I used to have a pink one and they are so pretty.

I love these decorative fold out cards with the different top designs
and the decorative borders that match exactly, genius!
I made a pocket for a tag card to write a message.

    Other materials:
Pearls, Dyed Seam Binding, 3-M Foam Tape, Crystal Clear Glitter, Memento Dye Ink (Rose Bud, Pistachio and Gray Flannel, Angel Pink and New Sprout), Posh pink dye refill (for dying the seam binding).

    5 1/2" X 17" fully open
    Full instructions for this card:
Die cut double layers for each panel that shows from the front and one for each "backside" of the fold out card using the Flowering Dogwood Paper, the Classic Border Basics Die.  On the back rectangle panel, die cut the opening for the Botanic Window from the blue paper only, replace the window opening with another piece of (different print) pink.  Glue all paper panels to their specific card panels.
Die cut Delicate Borders, Fleur Pockets, Botanic Window and Ornate Borders from white linen. Stamp and die cut flowers, leaves, Dove and Flowering Dogwood hanging branch using Rose Bud, Pistachio and Gray Flannel Memento.  Using the Stack and Store Daubers, sponge Angel Pink on the pink flowers and New Sprout on the leaves.  I used Copic BV-20 to shade the Dove.
I used the 3mm and 6mm tips on the flower shaping tool along with the soft embossing mat to form the flowers and leaves after lightly misting with water. When completely dry I added green Prills using the Dries Clear Adhesive.  I added more adhesive to the ends of the petals and added Crystal Clear glitter to the ends.
Starting on the back panel, I glued the Botanic Window frame to the opening that I cut earlier, added the Flowering Dogwood hanging branch (cut apart in pieces) then added my pink and "white" Dogwood and leaves. The dove is double popped with foam tape and attached to the right top of back panel.  I then added tiny pearls to the window frame and made a triple (small) bow with the dyed seam binding, misted it with water and crinkled in then added it to the right side under the dove tail.
The next panel is just a pink layer and has the Fleur Pocket glued to the lower left side.  I cut out a tag from the Flowering Dogwood paper and added a bit of Delicate Border to the top.  Cut another small tag, punched a hole and added narrow ribbon then glued it to the rectangle tag, added a piece of the hanging branch and tucked it inside the pocket.
The next panel I added another little piece of the hanging branch to the right top and more pink and white dogwood with leaves to the left top.  My paper has a small dove on the lower right side.
Inside the last panel is a pink layer with the Ornate Border die cut and another piece of the hanging branch.
On the front (shortest panel), I have a double layer of paper, one has another small dove on the left side.  I added dogwood to the right side and a small narrow ribbon bow.
To finish off my card, I added paper panels to the back sides (one of which shows when the card is closed).  For the panel that shows I chose a paper with hanging dogwood.  I added Prills to the centers of the flowers and glitter to the outside edges just as I did with my formed flowers.

    ODBDSLC286 Monthly Challenge-Just Say Thanks

    Good morning!
    Time for a new challenge.
Our challenge this month is Thank you.  We have some new stamps and dies at ODBD that are specifically designed for teacher and Sunday school teacher thank yous!! Find them HERE.

Today my card is for a Sunday school teacher.

    ODBD stamps: Sunday School Teacher

I used the small cross in the Sunday School Teacher set to stamp all over the background and emboss, then sponged Peacock Distress Ink and Wilted Violet.  On a separated piece I embossed the sentiment and sponged the same colors then die cut with Antique Labels and Borders.
I stamped the large cross, embossed and sponged as before then punched a hole on top and added a white tassel.
I cut the heart layers and decorative corners from white linen and then assembled, using foam tape for some of the layers.
The cross can be detached and used as a book marker.

There will be a $15 gift certificate  toward stamps for one random winner as well as one winner for the Shining the Light Award.
For the Shining The Light Award you will need to use Our Daily Bread Designs stamps.

For more inspiration please visit my design team sisters

Thanks for visiting today and have a wonderful week!
    God bless you!
    Robin

ODBD May New Release Blog Hop

    Good Morning!
Welcome to the May Release Blog Hop!
Look at these fun new stamps and dies!!!  Just in time for some Teacher appreciation cards & gifts!

End of the school year gift set for your favorite teacher.

    Gift basket
    ODBD stamps: Seeds of Knowledge
I made my basket and used the Americana Quilt paper for the insets.  I filled the basket with some iridescent filler (like what is used in Easter baskets) then stamped, die cut and colored 3 of the large teacher's apples.  I attached floral picks to the backside and stuck them into the "grass".
I then made a tag with a combo of words from the Seeds of Knowledge stamp set.

    Matching card.
    ODBD stamps: Class Act
ODBD dies: Clipboard Set, Notebook Paper (stamp/die set), Alphabet
I used a light blue and red (like the tag on my basket) to make my card base.  Added a strip of decorative paper from the Americana Quilt collection and buttons and bow to match my basket.
I then used a brownish card stock for the clipboard and silver mat for the clip part (I cut two of them so that I could pop the top one up at an angle just like a real clipboard. I cut the pencil and ruler from a matching blue (medium) and stamp then fussy cut my stack of books.  I stamped and die cut the notebook paper, stamped my words on it and then die cut the ABC to go on the top of the paper.

This card is for a Sunday School teacher appreciation.
Your Sunday School teacher can even use the cross for a book marker as it is easily detached.
    ODBD stamps: Sunday School Teacher

I used a recent SplitCoastStampers sketch for my layout, I really liked it.
After getting my base layers on I stitched around the layers with my sewing machine. I then added the cross and sentiment panel.
I happen to have a ton of tassels so I punched a hole at the top of my cross and attached the tassel...The color was a perfect match to the ODBD Shabby Rose Collection paper background color.

For a chance to be one of 3 winners, please visit each design team member and comment on their New Release blog post.

    Romans 5:6-8

    New King James Version

[ Christ in Our Place ] For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
